CRUISING

2010

The Cruising Committee presents another exciting year of organized cruising activities ranging from informal rendezvous to cruises-in-company to member expeditions.

2010-2012 CRUISING CALENDAR

Rendezvous

Informal gatherings in beautiful settings where members can come together by yacht and sometimes auto to enjoy the company, cocktails and a great meal.  Some locations also offer a unique opportunity for a tour or cultural activity during the day.

Cruises-in-Company

The more formalized Cruise-in-Company is a longstanding Club tradition that offers the opportunity to bring members together formally and informally roaming the oceans of the world in the company of members' yachts or charter yachts.  2009 Cruises-in-Company included the Bahamas (Exumas) in March/April, San Juan Islands in August/September and Chesapeake Bay in October.  In 2010, Cruises-in-Company are planned from St. Augustine, FL to the Charleston, SC; the Amalfi Coast near Naples, Italy; and the Hudson River.

Expeditions

The first expedition to Greenland in the summer of 2007 was a stunning success.  The Antarctica expedition had an incredible trip south in February 2008.  The trip to the Galapagos Islands in 2009 was unparalleled.  The next expedition will be to Alaska in 2010, followed by Egypt in 2011. An expedition to South Georgia & the Horn in October 2011 is in the formative stages.  Please call the sailing office to express your interest.  2012 will bring an expedition to the Upper Amazon River.
