Golden Spinnaker Gala Co-chairs Bill Sandberg and Joey Moffitt want to remind NYYC members that they can help the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Teams “Bring Back the Gold” at the club’s Golden Spinnaker Gala on November 14th at the 44th Street Club House. The festivities begin at 1730 and feature silent and live auctions with a Grand Prize Raffle of a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master timepiece in between. The raffle is limited to 200 tickets at $100 per ticket. This is a men’s stainless steel timepiece with a special platinum time-lapse bezel, platinum dial and an oyster bracelet valued at $8,325.00. To enter the raffle, Contact Carolyn Brolley at brolley@nyyc.org or (646) 218-3357.

A few highlights from the silent auction are: a six-day cruise for six from St. Martin aboard Donnybrook with captain and crew; a week-long cruise aboard L. Scott Frantz’s classic 72-foot Herreshoff Ticonderoga in St. Barts, an Optimist Training Clinic by Long Island Sound Optimist Training (LISOT); and a day-sail aboard Black Watch the 68-foot classic yawl designed by Sparkman & Stephens in 1938. The lucky winner of this item can choose to board in New York, Greenwich or Newport.

Following the raffle, Gary Jobson will introduce the Olympic sailors, and that will be followed by the live auction.

The live auction offers more than a few irresistible items to bid on. The LINK features some of these: a week on Man-O-War in a quintessential Bahamian cottage that overlooks Abaco sound, airfare is included; Tee for Three with Ken Read at the Newport Country Club.
