CLUB HISTORY burgeeeee

Rush Creek Yacht Club was founded on the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard in 1969. Since then, RCYC has become a landmark for yacht racing in the Dallas area as well as the Southwestern region of the United States. Over the past 44 years, Rush Creek Yacht Club members have excelled on the local, regional, national, and international level. In our brief history, our club members have won Olympic Medals, The Transpac Race, J/22 World Championships, Flying Dutchman World Championships, and the Sunfish World Championships. A small club with 250 members, Rush Creek strives to be a regional growth center for sailing in the southwest. Members routinely travel to regional and national regattas promoting sailing in North Texas. The junior program is the heart of Rush Creek Yacht Club, with the Junior Sailors persistently attending US Sailing Junior Championship events.

Skipper Ryan Glaze, having grown up sailing on the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard, returned to his home in 2007 and became a very active member of RCYC. As the fleet captain of the Melges 24, he oversaw the expansion of the fleet with competitive racing all over the southwest. Ryan regularly represents RCYC as crew or skipper in the Grand Prix racing scene. He and his three young daughters can be found racing their Melges 24 on the weekends.
