New York Yacht Club Racing
The New York Yacht Club is excited to provide racing sailors will a robust menu of sailing opportunities in 2022. The 168th Annual Regatta in June and Race Week at Newport in July will showcase the spectrum of racing from handicap buoy racing, one-design short course racing, and the always popular Around-the-Island Race. For those of you looking for an offsore, short-handed challenge, the inaugural Bermuda Short-Handed Return will get underway in Bermuda on June 26. This will add some excitement to the return ride home for many Bermuda Race participants. Another new addition to the schedule in 2022 is the NYYC Women's Championship Regatta, taking place June 17-19. This event will feature the top women sailors from around the country competing in the club's fleet of Sonars. The Club has a strong history of supporting women's sailing, including hosting the 2010 World Sailing Women's Match Racing World Championship and Women's 2v2 Team Race which returns for its second edition June 4-5. The Club's traditional trio of team races will once again take place during the last three full weekends in August. September will highlight the Resolute Cup, the premier championship competition between US yacht clubs. After being cancelled in 2020, the teams have had plenty of time to get ready for what will be tight and exciting racing on Narragansett Bay. We look forward to seeing you in Newport this summer!
