2025 NYYC Grandmasters Team Race
August 15 - 17, 2025
Newport, R.I.
The 2025 NYYC Grandmasters Team Race Regatta, now in its fifteenth running, will consist of 10 teams and 3 days of racing. Competitors will sail in Sonars with 3 to 5 sailors per boat. Skippers must be at least 60 years of age and shall not have skippered in either the 2025 Morgan Cup or 2025 Hinman Masters. Each crew member must be at least 50 years of age. This regatta is targeted to offer continuing high-level competition to the large number of experienced veteran team racers. Entry is by invitation.
The Commodore Stewart Cup, first awarded to the yacht Seven Seas in 1938, was rededicated in 2010 to be awarded to the winner of the NYYC Grandmasters Team Race Regatta.

Trophy History: The silver bowl with handles was first presented by Commodore A.W.A. Stewart to the yacht SEVEN SEAS in August 1938, as the winner of the Commodore’s Cup during the 1938 Annual Cruise.
Awarding of the Trophy: It is currently awarded to the winner of the NYYC Grandmasters Team Race.
