2025 Hinman Masters Team Race
August 8 - 10, 2025
Newport, R.I.
Yacht Club teams will be invited to compete in the 2025 Hinman Masters in Sonars with 3 to 5 sailors per boat. Skippers must be at least 45 years of age and each crew member must be at least 40 years of age. Entry is by invitation.
The winning team will be presented with the Commodore George R. Hinman Masters Invitational Trophy — the NYYC's Masters team-racing championship. The trophy was rededicated in 1999 by Commodore George M. Isdale in recognition of George R. Hinman's commitment to sailing and friendly competition. The first regatta was held in 2000.

Trophy History: This trophy was presented to Henry Payne Whitney in recognition of his schooner VANITIE’s winning the 1926 King’s Cup Race held in Newport on August 20th of that year.
Awarding of the Trophy: The trophy was rededicated in 1999 by Commodore George M. Isdale in recognition of Commodore George R. Hinman’s commitment to sailing and friendly competition. It is to be raced for during a team race competition among “Masters” sailors from recognized yacht clubs.
